I have a 10g with dirt and a good amount of plants and I am still searching for good lighting. I have a hood that takes two bulbs and I'm trying to find a good one for my plants. Suggestions would be very much appreciated

For low light plants, 6500k CFL bulbs work very well

It sounds like you probably have the hood that takes 2 screw in CFL bulbs. I would recommend 2 bulbs around 10-12 watts in the 6500k range. If you get higher wattage than that they will produce a lot of algae. With CFL's or any fluorescent bulb you will need new bulbs every 6-10 months or so as they wear out and don't produce the proper wavelength of light over time.

If you were wanting a new fixture, I highly recommend the Finnex Planted Plus LED's. They are specifically made for plants in the proper wavelengths. They work really well, and you will save money with lower electricity costs, never changing bulbs, etc.
