Suggestion for books on discus that make good reading..

HI everyone, was wanting to buy some reading material on discus any suggestions.
I saw there are a number of authors on the internet, and some expensive ones like discus
but seriously don't know which one to buy, I read that jack wattley is the best, but also read that he's books are a bit outdated also.
so am really confused at this point as I can't see the book at my local book store, so really can't tell which one to get.
Can please someone help me..

hey yusufm.

The jack wattley book is quite good from what I got when I asked this on another forum. in all honesty you can learn everything in much more depth reading on some of the sites dedicated to discus, I know a few setup pages as a book so you can read from the starting point to the end point. if you really want a book I would suggest any that comes your way, most cover the same areas basic wise so the differences won't vary much.

 

hmmm that's true.. but some times you have to search a lot for the info that you want on the web, but that's not the case with a book you know where what is and can't get info anytime and anywhere.
But then also please do suggest the sites that your referring to.

^ everything put into one area by the mods, read the stickys then just got over the FAQs just like a book everythings in the one spot.



^ every things here also but you have to look around a bit more for a more in depth view.

I find there's not much different with discus then other fish, water changes weekly and feed them daily. keep the filtration good and everything should work out fine, I have had no problems, wild discus I believe are ones that require all the hard work.

 

the ones that I have pretty much at like small kids. take yest for instance, for no apparent reason they running all over the tank. any idea y this might have happened?
