Hi -hope this is in the correct forum..i posted this in 'ram;s at first.---4 foot tank..0 nitite 0 ammonia 25 nitrate ph 7 temp 80 f - Heavily planted
tetars glowlights, black and cardinals
2 female bettas
corys

I literally just noticed that my golden ram has a white bump on his mouth. He looks healthy and swimming and eating. I have also just noticed a similar bump on my female betta!

It looks like a white small white barnacle or wart esp on the betta, as opposed to a fungus cotton stringy appearance. I raised the temp a few days ago from 78 f, because i read that cardinals like 80 f to 82 f. Maybe that has soemthing to do with it?

All the other fish seem fine.

I'm worried it might affect the whole tank. Is it mouth fungus and any ideas what the best meds might be for this? I'm in Uk and have been looking at :

API Melafix 118ml
Interpet Anti Fungus and Finrot 100ml
Waterlife Myxazin 100ml

Yes a pic of the betta will help. Anything new added to the tank. You raised the temp. How much time did you do it in? How often do you change the water and how much?

yes, ill try, hers looks similar to rams, but stands out alot more because of her blue colouration.

Raised the temp to 81 the same day. was i meant to do it slowly?
I've added new plants yesterday and a few black neons, that seem fine, 2 weeks ago.
I have to admit i've not been that good with water changes because of work and changed it every 2 weeks or three week.s . I will do it daily from now at 25 %. Last time i did it was 3 days ago at 50 %.
Does anyone have any idea if those meds are okay for fungus? We don't have the american meds recommended here. ta

I thought ICH was more like a peppering of white dots over the fish? They have showed no signs of flashing or scraping against things either.

Hi-Yes, i've seen King British in the LFS here a lot. I'm not sure exactly what to use for fungus though, if it is fungus that is. I'm worried it's that columbine bacteria and it might rage through tank. I will go LFS (who are not the best, but we don't have many in the area!) and ask if they have anything for mouth fungus. Any other advice would be great as people here often seem more knowledgeable than the LFS!

I think they have a remedy for fungus if you decided it was that

King British Disease Clear, 100 ml: Amazon.co.uk: Pet Supplies

this one says its for bacterial and fungal infections. Im not sure how afe it would be for inverts or scaleless fish if you've got any in the tank, i havent used this specific one yet

Thanks mate. I'll pop in to local and see if they have it. Charge a 5 er for p and p on amazon!

There's SO many different meds, you need to be a zoologist combined pharmacist to understand what to go for!
