Sudden Betta Shock happen to Anyone?

Did a water change today and when plugging everything back in I noticed my betta just sitting there with almost all of his color suddenly gone. A few seconds later he snapped out of it and regained his color and activity. Not sure if maybe the heater sent an electrical current through the water and that's what caused it, or if he was just being weird. He is completely fine now, but I'm just wondering if this odd behavior has ever happened to anyone else?

 

Are you using the right temp water when you are refilling it? I personally have not seen that before.

 

Yeah I keep the temp at 79 when I am filling it up, that was the only thing I could think of but I ruled that out.

 

How long has it been since a WC? Maybe the pH was wonky or something.

 

I do weekly water changes, haven't tested pH in a couple of weeks but it should still be constantly remaining at 7.2.

Umm my betta did loose it’s colour and stop moving after I did a water change but instead of snapping out of it it died in a few hours. I think I did too big of a water change so that’s why. Not sure if it’s counted as similar experience tho.

Oh no that's unfortunate. Sorry to hear that happened, I don't think mine was freaked out from the water change because I only did a small one. I think maybe I've come to the conclusion he was just being weird.
