Substrate from outside ? I need to know

TropicalFlow

Can I put some rocks or wood from outside into my aquarium if I wash it really good?? Will it kill my fish? I want more decorative ness in my tanks. By

Depends on what rocks and wood but a lot you can use.

You can use any inert rocks. They dont bubble with a drop of vinegar. Avoid sandy stones. If they do bubble they can change your water parameters. Like make the pH rise. If you have really low pH it doesnt matter as much.

Sticks you can use most, but they have to be dry all the way through. NO green inside. You also cant use any kind of sappy trees. Like pine or evergreens.

Oki, like what plants could I put maybe?

StarGirl

Plants are a little more risky. I wouldnt. You dont know what kind of pesticides were used etc.

Ya that what I thought
I have another question, can I use some type of glue to glue rocks together? Like gorilla glue or hot glue gun? Or will that kill me fish?
