Substitute For Frozen Worms/shrimp

I tried to order frozen bloodworms online since my betta has had nothing but pellets for nearly three weeks, but apparently they can't deliver it because the weather is too hot.
I can't buy them myself either because all the professional aquariums are too far away and the product would melt during my trip home.
Hopefully feeding meat to my betta isn't that urgent of an issue (since I'd have to wait until at least September for the weather to calm down), but if it is, what can I use instead?
I would rather avoid live prey since I don't have the equipment.

 

Can you get freeze dried stuff? I have freeze dried daphnia, bloodworms and tubifex. The fish don't like them as much as frozen stuff usually but it's a lot better than just pellets. Make sure to soak them well before feeding.

 

Take a bucket, fill it with water and leave it outside. You will soon notice mosquito larvae swimming around. Scoop out the larvae and feed it to the betta. Free food and your betta will love it.

That sounds fun, but unfortunately 1) I live on the 18th floor and don't have any ledges outside my windows to put a bucket on and 2) the weather here is so hot that there are barely any mosquitos around.
