My little gal, Pedro (named before we found eggs) found herself in a predicament with the filter intake. I've moved her and the tube into a glass filled with tank water for now.

Waiting game? How long do I wait to see if she'll free herself before cutting away at the plastic? I'm not sure I have anything that will make cuts without snapping the plastic. Any advice on that too?

And yes, pre filter sponges have now been ordered

I can't see what exactly happened. Can you explain to me please? I don't see a shell:/

Try gently prying her loose with your fingers. Don't yank her by the shell.

Oh I see her lol. I would take the tube off and she can move again. Gently pull the tube off

Are you sure she's dead? Did you sniff her? Sorry for your loss.

And thanks

I'm sorry for your loss. Glad to hear you have sponge on the way though.

If you have any other snails find a piece of pantyhose to put over the intake until the sponge gets there. Sorry for your loss.

I don't have anything like that, I'm not good at being a girl, but I could hit up the fabric store.

lol. I would imagine any kind of thin sock could work for just a few days (or a piece of an old thinned out t-shirt), secured with a rubber band. Just make sure it's not preventing so much flow that your motor in the filter burns out. Of you could stop in at a shoe store and ask them for one of the free "footies" they have for women trying on shoes.

We're a gold toe household haha. I haven't been able to come up with anything that would work around here.
If my Amazon order doesn't show up today (was supposed to be here Monday), I'll hit up the fabric store. I don't want to lose anyone else and the nerites are quite small. We have a platy baby hanging out in a bag of bio balls (smart baby!) to worry about as well.
