Stubborn Ick Or Something Else

Fishlegs

Hello,
I purchased 3 silver hatchetfish 2 months ago. I added them to my group of seven and as soon as I put them in the tank I noticed that the ones that I added had tiny white spots. I was pretty sure it was ick so I raised the temperature up to 84 - 86 and did frequent water changes for about 2 weeks. The spots didn’t get worse and they didn’t get better. One of the new fish did die in the first 2 weeks.

I have also tried Super Ick Cure and Jungle Ick Tabs. Nothing seems to change the spots. They are not on the fins they are only on the body and are very faint in appearance. I have kept the temp at 82 or higher for the past 2 months.

My question is could these spots be something else? Could they be some sort of scars from ick.

The other seven fish have not shown any sign of ick from being around the new fish.

I would like to add the hatchet fish to my large tank but I don’t want to take the risk of infecting the tank with ick.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated,
Josh

Are you sure this isn’t the hatchet fish that has what looks like white spots on its belly area?

I mean the knifefish that’s supposed to have white spots on its belly?

I’m so sorry. Had a knife in my hand.
