Stringy poo with no other symptoms

Feel free to move this to the appropriate area but the app makes it a little difficult to find the right forum.

Alright all you fish disease experts. My sajica cichlid has had stringy poo for about 3 weeks with no other symptoms. No flashing. Eating well. Not shy or lethargic. What do you guys think

I actually had this issue with one of my rusty cichlids a few weeks back, he had stringy white poop but was eating and acting completely normal, I kept a eye on him since this was my first time owning cichlids and I had read all about bloat etc but after about a week it vanished and his poop turned back to the normal brown colour that everyone else was pooping. So I put it down to stress of traveling in the car and being in a new environment.

I spoke to the guy that sells cichlids I'm Gothenburg and he said that white stringy poop doesn't have to mean anything as long as there is no other symptoms, but being inexperienced I can't say this is true, I just took his word for it seeing as all he sells is cichlids.

Thanks guys. DoubleDutch how do you suggest I worm him knowing that I have loaches in my tank?

Sorry I can't help tyguy7760 but I have a quick question. What kind of fish are those in the pictures? They're lovely!

The stringy poo one is a Cryptoheros Sajica or Tbar cichlid. The red ones are male cherry barbs. I've had them for over a year now so they are getting some size on them.

If the opinion is that I need to worm my fish, would paraguard or prazipro be something I could use to do this? Suggested dosing? I've used both in the past.

PrazI pro seems to work well for parasites except for calamus worms. (which yours isn't that).

Do you agree from the pics this is what he needs?

Could I do hex shield and prazI pro?

Yes & Yes you can, Hex shield is a metro, Epsom salt and garlic mix. It's quite stout and your fish will only eat it for 3 or 4 days tops.
