Strings on plants in new setup?

Candace

I’m not sure what this is, I’ve never seen it before any other time I’ve had plants or set up a tank. What is it and is it safe for fish ect? Tank has been up for 3-4hours, only inhabitants are a couple of pest snails that caught a ride on the anacharis. I set the tank up with imagitarium biological booster, seachen prime, and thrive.

Looks like filamentous algae. Absolutely safe for fish and other inhabitants, some might even enjoy it. But it can become an aesthetical nuisance, and I hear they're nearly impossible to get rid of.

V1K is correct, both about what it is (it's also called hair algae, for obvious reasons) and the difficulty of eradicating it.
