Stressful week!

First my grandfather spent most of this week in the hospital, with bilateral pnemonia. He is having to be on oxygen full time now and tube fed.

Then, mom finds out that where they transfered nursing homes 6 months ago his social security checks didn't transfer with him.

Now today my mil just called me, my father in law had a lung biopsy Tuesday and they got the results. He has lung cancer. They don't know if its the small cell (fast spreading) yet. He sees the doctor again next week and will go from there. They are saying with his poor health (copd, high bp, circulation issues) he prob won't be a canidate for a lung resection (to cut the cancer out). I don't know about chemo. My dad got 'secretly" diagnosed with lung ca 3 months before he killed himself. We got the news that he knew when we got the explanation of benifits from the insurance company he never told us. I'm prob not going to deal with this well. But I am going to hold it together for my husband and mil. My husbands family is a very close family.

I was wondering this morning why my blood pressure was slowly climbing back up, I know now! I'm glad I work this weekend, at least I can get a reality break. (its werid when taking care of sick people in a hospital is a break from my life I guess that's why I enjoy my work).

I am so sorry for all the bad news! I hope your work does take your mind off of things. You cannot be stressed being preggo right now!! I sounds like everybody is in good hands and you know everything possible will be done for them. Sounds like time to go sit in front of a tank and watch some baby fishes or just relax in front of your favs for a while. I know it is easier said than done but you are going to have to let the docs handle it right now and you have to take care of you! Hang in there and if you need to talk you know we are here for you.

Best wishes,
Sherry

I'm sorry! That's a lot to handle at once - too much. Good luck to all of you, and don't forget to take care of yourself while you're taking care of everyone else (eat, sleep, drink wine).

Thanks you all...
I wish I could drink wine.. but being pregnant that's not an option.

Oh no! Pregnant on top of it all . . .

Well, you could have one glass (hides under table to avoid pelting).

How far along?

Angela, I'm so sorry to hear about everything you are dealing with right now. This past week has been one of the hardest for me too. Just make sure you give yourself some space and alone time each day and allow yourself to relax and focus on something else (like your fishies ). I hope things get better soon!
