Hi, Ive never had angels before so I got a bit worried when I saw this hanging out of one of my new fish .At first I thought it was its guts but after a couple of days it had gone so it must have been poo .I was wondering if any body had seen any thing like it .I was thinking maybe a change in its diet had done it .

I've never seen anything like it. Isabella may know. It looks kind of like a worm, hope not.

OMG LOL ... never seen anything like this with my Angels! Hmm ... LOL, sorry to laugh, but this thing looks really BIG! I don't think it's worms of any kind, as worms look different. Well ... I've never had worms in any of my fish, but nevertheless I don't think these are worms on your Angelfish. Never seen a poo like this ... but what else could it be? What are you feeding your Angels? This Angel's belly looks pretty big. Angels are extremely greedy for food and they can eat A LOT if you give them as much as they'd like to eat. I always control the amount of food my Angels get. It's not good to overfeed as they can get sick this way. My guess would be that this Angel ate WAY too much and that's why it has this weird poo, lol. I hope these are not some worms! Tell me what you're feeding it with, how much, and how many times a day.

Hi, well its not worms and the fish is fine now , its poo is back to normale .They are in with my rainbows so they get blood worms, flake, sinking pellets and veggies not all on the same day.I give blood worms twice a week with some flake, veggies twice a week with flake and pellets and flake for the other three days .I don't think that I over feed my fish some times I think that I don't put enough in, they get feed in morning and at a night and allways seem hungry but don't look thin or unhealthy cheers boff.

Wow I never had that with my Angels. The only thing I can think of is what my Discus had,Hex, which is a parasite desease in the intestinal track, actually some of the intestines are ruined from this desease. Out of 3 Discus that had this disease 2 died and 1 is currently still surviving. I used PrazI Pro for 2 days which brought out the white stringy poo and then had to go with metro for 3 to 4 days. So any more when I buy Discus from the LFS they go directly into a QT til they look like there ok to move into the main tank.

Could the Angel have possibly eaten another smaller fish?

Wow, that's wierd, but sort of familiar looking:
Years ago, when I had my oscar, on occasion I fed him all kinds of red meat, which he LOVED!!! Once I tried feeding him bits of hotdog, and even though he gulped it right down, he poo'd the strangest, almost plastic looking poo I've ever seen. Needless to say I never fed him hotdog again. This sort of reminds me of that. Did you feed yours anything out of the ordinary???
