Hey guys,

In my 55 gallon tank, I plan on having 4 apistogramma cacatuoides and 2 angelfish along with my school of harlequin rasboras. I'm having some trouble finding the apistos locally, but angels are easy to find.

My question is - can I stock the angels first, then add the apistos when I'm able to find some?

I know that angels can be aggressive when they stake out their turf, but they typically occupy the top 2/3 of the tank. SO, I thought since the apistos live close to the tank bottom the angels might not worry about them, even if they've already established their territories. I plan on adding a bunch of jungle val and tall plants to ensure there are lots of visual barriers as well.

That sounds like it would be fine to me.

If things get rough and you feel like one or some are being too territorial you can also move the decorations around to shake it up
