Stocking My Small Tank

I have a 8g spare tank that was earlier used to keep the molly fries but since I got bored of the mollies and get rid of them, bought new fishes and they don't breed in home tanks. My primary tank is a 25g tank. Now I am planning to keep 4-5 guppies in the 8 g tank. That tank did not have substrate since it was a fry tank for temporary period. Now I will buy aquarium soil and heavily plant the aquarium with live plants. I prefer dwarf lillies, amazon sword and hornwort.
Now my question is is it possible to keep the guppies in the tank without a filter? I am planning to do water changes regularly and clean the substrate with gravel siphon cleaner. I have my reason for not wanting a filter in my tank.
Is it possible to keep the fishes without having a filter? If yes, how can it be done? How much water changes should be done and at what interval?

I wouldn't dare go without a filter but what do I know? Maybe we'll bother be enlightened by someone. So do you mind sharing what your reason is?

Without a filter you'll never be able to cycle your tank so will be at the mercy of ammonia spikes constantly & also without some sort of agitation of the water column which a filter pump does you run the risk of oxygen starvation as oxygen is absorbed into the water mostly by surface agitation.

Are you sure? The beneficial bacteria lives in the filter media, no? I fish cycled my tank with 2 hob filters. I did use Tetra safe start initially and the Seachem stability.

Yeah, that's what I mean, without a filter you won't have any filter media which in turn means no BB colony which means no nitrogen cycle, the OP is considering having a tank with no filter which I advise against.

You can have tanks without filtration. Its extremely hard to pull off, and lots of people fail... but it can be done.

The plants will form the filtration, so fast growing plants (and a lot of them) are a must.

Look up the walstad method.
