Hello,
I am planning to add some Honey, and Sunset Honey gouramis to my 55 gal aquarium. I wanted to see if I could get 3 Sunset with 1 Honey together with my mellow Female Sunset Thick Lip Gourami.

I currently have stocked:
1 Sunset Thick Lip
6 Von Rios
6 Black Purple Harlequin Rasboras
3 Embers
3 Black Neons - Maybe adding 5 more
2 Neons
1 Peacock Grudgeon - debating adding more.
5 Amano shrimp
5 Nerite snails
1 African Frog
2 Otocinclus
2 KuhlI loaches - will be adding 8 more

Sunset Honeys are usually just Thick Lips but Honeys and Thick Lips are fine together in my experience. I would however get a couple more Thick Lips and around 5 Honeys

Thank you,

If I add that many Gouramis how would it effect my Bioload?

My current parameters are 7.3 PH 0 Ammonia 0 Nitrites .3 GH .3 KH and 5.0 nitrates
I test, and change the water 2 times a week.

I plan on adding the following over the next 6 months
8 KuhlI loaches
Possibly 5 Black Neons
Possibly 2-3 peacock grudgeons
1-3 Neon blue goby
Vampire shrimp
Rabbit snail

I couldn’t tell you honestly, a lot of people on the internet mention “bioload” but very few would be able to tell you exactly what theirs is in relation to stocking
As long as you’re not overcrowded you should be fine even with your planned stocking imo

Basically with the bioload, just test water regularly before and after every water change. The goal is to make sure the Nitrates don’t exceed 40 and if it’s getting close to 40ppm too fast increase your water change percentage (that’s how it was explained to me). And of course the normal 0 Ammonia and 0 nitrites. As long as your readings are normal everything is fine.
