HI all,

I am relatively new to this hobby, and I am currently fishless cycling a 55 gallon hexagon (tall) tank. I love angelfish, so I have been reading a lot about them. I have no interest in breeding, and my goal is to keep a peaceful and beautiful tank of happy fish. How does the following plan sound?

6 pristella tetras (added first)
1 dwarf gourami
1 juvenile angelfish (added last)

Thanks in advance. This site is very helpful!

Welcome to Fish Lore, Seagal! I hope you are well!

That sounds good to me, and I would think you'd be able to fit some sort of bottom dweller like a warmer water Cory cat. Stocking is not my strong suit, however. Paging TexasDomer Anders247 tyguy7760

Each of the six sides is 11.5 inches, 23 inches across (corner to corner), and 24 inches tall.

I wouldn't put an angel in that tank. As a juvenile, it will seem big enough, but that's not enough swimming room for an adult angel, in my opinion.

Thank you for the advice. I may have to go back to the drawing board.

I guess that's the good part of tank cycling- plenty of time to figure this out.

We'd be happy to offer suggestions if you want help

That tank would be perfect for large schools of nano fish!

Gourami and Angel fish is not really a good combination. Is it Texas Domer?
