Still Pond

    Hi all!! I want to do another pond.. I have a 50..65 gallon container.. however I do not want to run a filter i it.. just want to use plants as natural filteration!! Can anyone give me any helpful tips or links to success?? What plants are good?? Any advice is appreciated,!!!!

    Use lots of oxygenating plants on the bottom like hornwort and anacharis .

    Use a small water lily in a basket, or depending on if they're permited, water hyacinth or water lettuce to provide shade.

    Use a "thriller " plant to add height. Anything scaled to your container, like a dwarf canna or dwarf papyrus.

    Stock with fish that can overwinter, or be sheltered indoors.

    Keep in mind frogs may decide to spawn it it as well. ( not a bad thing !)

    Thanks for the info!!! Sounds relatively easy!! I can not wait to start! Any stocking ideas??!!
