Starving Pleco Won’t Eat

So in another thread, I was told that my pleco is starving. I tried to get him to eat a pea, but he’s acting like he doesn’t see it. He literally doesn’t care. What do I do??? And some of the pea pieces fell to the bottom of the tank, will that become a pollutant/problem?

Give him a night to eat.. they are nocturnal!! He may eat over night!!! Hopefully anyway do you have any shrimp pellets you could feed him? Mine really like those too!!

Mine won't eat peas either. You've got to find foods he likes. What kind of pleco is he? Different plecos eat different things. Try algae wafers, shrimp pellets, sinking goldfish pellets, blanched vegetables such as courgette, cucumber, cauliflower, bell pepper, carrot and green beans.
Feed him just before lights out. They are mostly nocturnal. Also the rest of the fish should be going to sleep so shouldn't bother him or eat his food as much as they would during the day.

I would get some cucumber, stick a fork in it so that it sinks and see if he goes for that, also plecos like to eat at night so I would keep tank in darkness/covered to encourage eating and reduce stress.

I was looking at the pictures and I don't think this is a bristle nose pleco... It looks like kinda like a common pleco.. I don't know if that changes its diet requirements or not.. BottomDweller do you know what kind it is?? Bettythebetta can you post a picture on this thread?

I'm not sure what kind of pleco it is sorry. If it is a common then it will need a meatier diet. Sinking pellets and frozen foods are good along with some vegetables and algae wafers.

Everybody, I’ve decided what’s best for him is to give him to my friend. She has a 100 gallon tank, and I want only what’s best for him. She said she will get him driftwood and food and plants and caves and all kinds of stuff. She said she will let me help her re-decorate the tank for him before he goes to her house. I hope he has a wonderful life there. Thank you.

I know it's difficult but he will be so much happier. Please be aware that he will eventually need a bigger tank than 100 gallons though. Sounds like your friend will look after him well.
