Thanks guys
I should have the rescue website up by saturday.
I will be a while before I post pics of the new guy, I have to leave a Super Bowl party, get him, start acclimating him(drip) and go back to the party.

Here is "Timmy" he is huge! I have him in the vase he was in because it is larger than the temporary tank I set up. His owner was really nice too she gave me a small bowl, 3 plastic plants, freeze dried betta treats(I know to soak them first) a net and water de-chlorinator.

Do you now have 3 rescues? He is huge though! Maybe a giant betta, how big is he? I think the giants normally are around 2 1/2" from the tail to the tip of the mouth, but with him I would only measure the body size. Good luck!

I have 3 now
His body is about 2 1/2 inches.

WOW! He is huge! And he's a veil tail!! Giants are rarely seen as other tail varieties other than plakats. Your so lucky to get hold of him! Rarely have I seen giants be bigger than 2 1/2" from the tip of the nose to the tip of the tail!

So, wait... it's abnormal for Veil tails to be more than 2.5 inches? My VT is close to 3 inches of just body, and probably closer to 4.5 if you count the tail lol

My betta was marketed as a giant and he's maybe 2 1/2" plus tail, he's a plakat and looks to be around 2 - 3 years old (he's loosing vision too). My halfmoon is maybe 1 1/2" not counting the tail, but he's still young and my other plakat was maybe 1 1/2" not counting the tail also.... Am I just getting the abnormally small bettas from my LPS? Here's a link to another thread on another forum talking about giants.

According to post #2 on that link, Hallyx has a veil tail with a 2" body and says that's fair-sized, but no giant. Hm... Maybe you do have very large veil tails....

Cool sites
He is a really big betta.
How much should I feed him?

I've been taught as much pellets/flakes or treats that can fit in his eye! Not sure if it's right, but for my normal bettas I usually feed 3 pellets, so maybe 4?

No, I have to wait till march. Jesse only ships once a month.
