So I started my tank over... which isnt much because I didnt have fish anyway.. so now my ammonia level is 2ppm. I have tetrasafestart plus that I want to add and then add the fish. Will that be ok? Since the bacteria will eat the ammonia up? What should I do

I think you should wait until you are fully cycled until adding fish, since it'll be much more work if you are doing a fish in cycle.

If you want to use TSS+, its best that its used with fish in the tank. Here is what you do.
Add the TSS+, and make sure that you add the fish within 45 minutes of adding the TSS+.
Only add a few fish for the cycle, and make sure they are fish that will be part of the final stock. Also make sure that the fish that you use for the cycle, are the hardiest of the ones you wish to have.

Now the hard part.
Do not do anything to the tank, water, or anything else for two weeks. No testing the water, no adding water, and most of all NO WATER CHANGES.
The only thing you are gonna do for two weeks is just feed your fish, that is all.
After the two weeks, do a 50% water change, test your water, and you should be cycled.

The bacteria won't just eat it up ..and thats it. When did you start your tank up and how is your ammonia 2ppm?

This doesn't seem like it would work at all. Have you done this before? Where did you find this method? Just curious, not saying it doesn't work.

Used it twice, on my 75, and my wife 5 gallon.
This is exactly the way TSS+ is supposed to be used.
I am redoing my 75, and just bought TSS+ for my fish in cycle that I will do next week.

Forgot to mention, its best to get the biggest bottle of TSS+, and shake the mess out if it. When you are done shaking it, shake it some more.

I personally have only used BB when I already had fish in the tank and the fish in cycle wasn't going causing an ammonia build up (but only had max 0.5ppm) , or without fish at all and have had no issues. I know they market those BB to add fish immediately, but its always safer to wait until the parameters have stabilized, especially if you have 2ppm ammonia, this can be deadly, especially to new fish. If you keep feeding the cycle once ammonia goes down, there's no need to add fish, they are just the source of ammonia in the cycle.

I would recommend using BB, but wait for that ammonia to go down and until you see nitrates before adding fish. I would also take a look at why you have such a high ammonia reading. Like StarGirl15 said, do you know why you have such a high reading so soon?

Before adding fish the parameters should read.
0 ppm ammonia
0 ppm nitrite
at least 2.5-5 ppm nitrate

Adding BB wont immediately produce these parameters, it will still take at least a few days. This is why I don't recommend adding fish, unless you are prepared for possibly losing them

What does that help with?
It just is a dechlorinator that also helps with the slime coat on fish and reduce stress. It has no BB in the product and will not cycle a tank

Hey there so 2 wks ago I followed your advice for cycling fish tank... so today is exactly 2 weeks my ammonia is at 0 ppm, nitrite 0 and nitrate 0... is it CYCLED? Should I do the water change now?

I just did my first water change yesterday and am going to check the water when I'm off work.
