Hello I am new here so I hope I am posting on the right thread. I am having a few issues I have been trying to fix for the last 3-5 months and can’t seem to figure out exactly what to do so before I elaborate on the wrong post could someone help me out and let me know how it works here? Do I post an entire new thread or would I just comment on a post like this since it’s regarding Betta fish? I’m sorry I know this seems stupid but I can’t seem to figure out my way around here just yet. Thanks guys!

Generally it's in bad taste to post a question about your situation on someone else's thread, with exceptions of course. It tends to distract from that person's own questions and you won't get the specific attention to your question that you will need.

If you've got a question post a new thread, that is if you don't already have a thread going for a related question (ie, your 2-3 Betta questions get answered, and you think of another few a couple days later). Don't post multiple threads regarding the same or closely related subjects. The mods are pretty good at combining them anyways. Also don't fret too terribly much about it being in the wrong spot. No body is going to get mad at you, and again the mods are really good at moving it to the correct spot.

All that being said, most, if not everyone is really nice and if you make a mistake (be it how you run your tanks, or the way you post) you will be gently redirected and someone will get you to the information you need.

And Welcome to Fishlore!

Thank you for your quick reply! I actually figured out how to post a new thread from another user so I went ahead and used to sick fish form and posted a new thread under Betta fish, if there is a way to delete this post I will do so... Sorry about that and thank you again for clarifying.

Just thought I would help clarify things a little. No need to delete (also pretty sure only mods can). Posts like this help future members like yourself. Good luck

Thank you, that's what I thought since I was commenting on a thread that was posted regarding the EXACT same problem I have but it seems others advise it is not okay to post on others threads so I don't want to upset anyone I am just here for advice, learning and hopefully eventually I will be experienced enough to help others.
