Star Wars Build

I've had many threads helping with stock and other things and now I want to make it an official build thread. So I want my theme to be an Endor theme or Naboo theme from Star Wars. Ik this is silly but like I really want to for this 20 gallon as it's not a major build that will break the bank! Any ideas for decor and Ik @BruxandBubbles helped me with plants, but are there any specific plants that jump out to you as Star Wars ??? I plan on getting the current USA satellite light so idk if that can handle all plants. Don't want plants with co2, just use flourish for extra plants. I thought it would be fun and would love to have help!

So far:
Pool filtered sand
20 gallon high tank
Stock:
2 x German blue ram
3 x honey gourami
6 x sterbaI corydoras
15 x green neon tetras

Java ferns and moss covered, viney driftwood--it would look like Endor!

The only thing with Endor is the tan sand kinda throws it off but I was also thinking about tatooine but don't know how I would get plants with that bc I thought my stock would like plants.... any other ideas ???

Also, how do you set up wood to make it just stand up tall without falling it over??? Like this
Also here are ideas!

Haven't looked up tatooine yet!

Silister Trench had a tank at one point that looked like a forest. I'm sure he could provide some tips.

Hey that's pretty cool. I'm not a plant expert but this is really awesome.

You could do Tatooine and make a Sarlacc pit out of plants (obvious Star Wars nerdiness showing). I've been thinking about doing a Mustaphar or Sullust tank myself with a volcano.

I've seen something similar done with wood before. They had a completely dry and empty tank and just siliconed one end of the stick to the bottom. Then when the substrate was put in it helped to make them reasonably sturdy.

So I drew up this little drawing of what it would probably look like for tatooine(don't judge bad drawing lol):

fb4fcee2cd8297e2fd4c7ae4aed00cc3.jpg
afc2227c95ace6b1ff44eca07a42fffd.jpg
So the hut slab is this slate from petco:

b75150214a24eacf9ef406919250cc4f.jpg
And the rock on the right side is this stone from petco :

4771f7fb7a5f4e154c1610de74346e15.jpg
In the middle, I want a massive stone and I might have one in my backyard that I got from a lake previously, but didn't use it in my 55. Just need to boil it outside and do vinegar test.

Also, in the pit, we have java fern, anubias, red rubin, with Amazon sword and java fern and red Rubin in back being rock.

Up front would be Marimo balls acting as dust balls in the dessert. I thought it would be an interesting aspect.

Fish:
GBR would be Luke and Leia
15 green neon tetras would be jawas
2 honey gourami would be chewie and Han Solo
6 sterbaI or khulis would be droids or something else( any name suggestions?)

This would be the tatooine theme!

Love it! The marimo balls are a nice touch!

I thought so!

Tomorrow will be the endor themed drawing and then we vote to see which ones the favorite! I get decision in end ultimately though!

A long time ago in galaxy far, far away....

So I realized I don't know what type of wood to use for that tree look. Therefore, I feel like I cannot use it. Also, I feel like the "endor" theme is so cliché. As anybody could say there aquarium is endor! Also, I already bought the sand and have pool filter sand and I feel I would need black or brown sand/ substrate for endor. With that being said, anybody have good ideas for the aquascape??? I did draw that picture but I want more ideas to really show it's tatooine!

My ideas:
Same thing with pit of carkoon and having plants come out ! I might add a rock and have it sit over it like the ship that sat over it with luke and lando.
Then I was thinking about putting in a coconut hut, making it act like a hut in tatooine!

9640b81e944a41138d8e5416608d15d1.jpg
Then I was thinking this resembled the one scene during the pod race in tatooine but let me know!

9ed3e44fe6a5430059402912e47c5a07.jpg
Then these extra rocks in there!

3510f0401c9385df47985fd41ce6f751.jpg
Idk what to do with background or how I design that? Maybe paint pieces of paper and then laminate them??? (Having mom as teacher gives me that advantage)
Stock:
2 x German Blue Rams
Luke and Leia

15 x green neon tetras
Jawas

2 x honey gourami
Han Solo and Chewbacca

6 x khulI loaches or sterbaI corydoras
Tusken Raiders "Sand People"

If I would switch my green neon tetras to just neon tetras or anything else???

Also, yesterday, my parents walked into my room and look at my 55 but saw the pool filter sand and flipped... yeah, I guess I forgot to tell them but expected them to see it as it was sitting in there for a week almost! However, they both thought I was going with the axolotl but I told them I switched to another fish aquarium . My mom then said I could live with that. Then my dad said it's not going on my cabinet, it has to have a stand. So it sounds like they are good with it and then I told my dad it was Star Wars themed and he seemed excited but didn't want to admit it. So now I'm on the hunt for a 20 gallon stand that's under $50 ! If anybody has recommendations tell me! Would a small shelving unit work or no???

What about having a laminated or glossy print done for the background? Might be a little costly but it might also look really good.

How about a poster like this for your background: Tatooine Travel Poster Posters at AllPosters.com

Or any of these:

I've kept a 20 gallon tall on both a small dresser and a storage cabinet without a problem. I'd say anything that's decent wood construction would work, maybe try a thrift store?

I did just think that what if I went to A.C. Moore and just picked up a few pieces of nice, gradient colors like purple pink on top going into a dark blue? Then maybe scotch taping on the front the two suns and then asking mom to laminate it?

I just want something realistic and not taking away from aquarium! Like a piece of art with the word "Tatooine" distracts reader to just that and not to the aquarium!

Well when you spent $$$$$$ parents don't want you to ruin it like a previous dresser! I wish parents could understand as it would save money but they'd rather have an own Stand for it. The way it's set up will make it more appealing for me at least.... but I was planning on putting a large but small enough tank in that spot and was hoping parents would get that for me for Christmas on a Black Friday special

My dad just doesn't want water to leak or spill onto it and insist on having something down to protect it first . Any cheap things that will maintain balance with tank?

The first Star Wars film I saw on screen was the Force Awakens ... I was 2 and 5 when attack of the clones and revenge of the smith came out... needless to say I didn't get the gist of the movie at the time

It doesn't save money if a good dresser is ruined ;-) That's penny-wise pound-foolish.

What size tank were you hoping to put in the other spot? Maybe you can get a double stand?

Yeah ! Ik with my last dresser where the 20 gallon sat!

I was thinking of like a 56 combo or 37 combo. At petsmart last year, they were 50% off on Black Friday. However, I regret the stand I chose with my fifty five gallon and wish I could go back and re choose! I was thinking of getting one of those shelving units for garages . If I got one for my 55, I wouldn't have to worry about stability of stand and also, I could put more tanks / invest in maybe canister filter and have plenty of storage. That's what I'm leaning to for my 20 and hopefully I can get another aquarium in the future! Santa is going to be coming soon so!
Here's a picture of top choices!

I have a metal one similar to the Style Selections one you posted above, only it has a 36x18 footprint, and five shelves. It is working great, and it looks really nice, too. But do pay attention to the weight rating per shelf. My heaviest tank on there is a 20L, so it's fine, but bigger tanks might not work. Again, check the weight rating.

I'm scared I'm gonna disappoint as it's kinda like a theme for me personally, where as you might look at it and be like "what is this?" I don't want to put any figurines in it as I find that makes it look not natural. Idk well see how it goes!

As long as it looks nice to you who cares!!
I do have some input tho, I have the metal stand thing like vikingkirken. I used it to hold my rabbit's and hamster cages. However, since my hamster has passed on I put some tanks on the top stand and it works nicely. it does shake a bit when my bunnies jump around but nothing big
I also have a home made wooden stand and I love it so that's an option too!
My wodden stand hold 2 20 gallon longs or a 20 long on the bottom and a 29 one the top

Okay, so I would like that type of stand, but the place where this tank is going is right between my closet and door. There's 38 inches between the space. But also, my bed is on the opposite wall and it comes out pretty far. I'm scared if it comes out too far, I won't be able to walk and it will look crammed. Part of me is now thinking it might be better to just go with the small one stand or maybe that one white wired one . Also, I was originally planning to place a tv on that wall and if I have a 72 inch shelve, then I'm not gonna be able to see the tv with a small littlestand, I can still have tv and tank . With multiple tanks on a shelve unit, it might take away from the individual tank. Instead ppl will be distracted by all the tanks instead of focusing on the one!

I actually really like that one as if I really do want another tank, I could put a nice little 10 gallon on bottom! Maybe some bettas!!!

Works super well! I have both my 20 gallons on top, my 2 way 10 gallon divided betta tank on one bottom, and my leopard gecko on the other bottom.
