Squeezed bottle too hard and added too much ammonia

I'm never going to finish my fishless cycle on my tank.
I finally hit pristine Zeros on ammonia and nitrites, and my nitrates were through the roof....onwards of 40PPM or more!!!! So I did a PWC to lower the nitrates, decided to add in more ammonia and for the 2nd day in a row I squeeze the bottle to hard throwing a stream of ammonia into the tank. I don't feel like i'm going to jump back as easily from this as I did yesterday hahahahahaha

can this be over please LOL

 

Had this same problem I just pored it in and threw cation to the wind I regret it and deff learned from it .. Still cycling btw

 

how long have you been cycling?

 

You can do another water change if you added too much ammonia.

 

I did a test and surprisingly my ammonia is only .25ppm, I'll recheck for my 8pm test and go from there. just hope I didnt kill the bacteria

 

Since February it's taking me a while cause I made a few mistakes .....but it's coming along

Considered a bacteria additive like Tetra Safe Start or Seacham Stability to speed things up?

 

I used TSS this past weekend but I have no fish to put in yet so I think I wasted it ....I didn't check my water for the past 2 days so I'm hoping to se some type of change today

 

what all have you used. I used both, I think I wasted the TSS too, but I bought stability and even with my ammonia mishaps i'm pretty done, my numbers keep coming out beautiful. I had a huge Nitrate spike on my day 7, but after a water change everything keeps coming out 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, and nitrates between 5-10. Cant wait to see wha tI have in there today.

 

In the beginning I used API quick start and then I found out that doesn't really help much ...so It's pritty much been a waiting game .....I got home and tested got .25 ammonia 0 nitrites and 10 nitrates

i'm about to start a fishless on a 20 gallon

 

Trust me the temptation is excruciating but I've been drowning it out with other things around the house that need tending to and doing more research

 

TSS is a great product that will speed up your fish less cycle no end. All it needs to work is a constant ammonia supply. If you keep ammonia dosed between 1-2ppm (not higher as it'll kill the TSS) then add a whole bottle of TSS you'll be cycled in 2 weeks

 

Ahh we'll well that's good news I'm going to to add some ammonia today and see how it fairs everyone keeps asking me when they will see movement in the tank and I keep saying just a little longer this is not something I can rush

 

I"m got cycled in 7 days but I don't know if it was because of safestart or stability.

and that was 2 different tanks at the same time, one fishless and one fish in

 

I may go to get a 10 gallon while that 1$ per gallon sale is going on and use it as a qt good thing is I'll be able to cycle it much quicker since I have two filters I can just switch out the good stuff and put it in the new one
