Spotted baby panda cory today!

No my profile isn't updated to current day. In my 20 gallon I have 5 pandas 3 hatchets 6 pygmys an oto and a tiger nerite snail. I just had a kid so haven't been on here much. Just wanted to report to those who might care that despite it being totally accidental I spotted a baby panda cory in the tank, perhaps just shy of a centimeter long. Looks healthy, and I can already pick out the panda markings. So welcome to the family!

Also if anyone has any advice as to not killing my "second" child, feel free to chime in. I'll add a picture when I figure out how to. Right now not going to change much.

I would provide live food like brine shrimp for the whole tank so he/she can grab a shrimp or two. Also, look for other eggs and fry, and maybe put them in a separate container so that you can control the amount of food they get. And congrats!

Thanks! I've heard pandas are a little trickier to breed. Currently scanning for eggs or other fry but only see the one. A friend of mine who has two emeralds born in his tank said his lived happily once they reached that size. Thanks for the brine shrimp advice, just added some. These hatchets sure are happy. Could have sworn the whole tank was doing an underwater lion king act (like when simba was born) and swimming in all kinds of strange ways today. Main reason I saw the new guy.

Another update, saw a second slightly smaller fry in the tank this morning. At this rate I'm gonna need to upgrade my tank lol. Don't know how I got this lucky, but the larger I'm estimating is 2-3 weeks, the smaller 1-2. Definitely no expert though.

Here's a picture of one I snapped last night:

Congratulations on the baby corys. It is so exciting to have them. My baby bronze cory is now over 3 cm. Only have one though.

I'm up to 4 now! Here's another shot of the biggest:

I dunno if that link will work or not so I changed my profile picture to it.

Another update, spotted yet another small fry nearly invisible and translucent, I'm up to 6 or 7 (hard to keep eyes on the little buggers they're quick) and all are varying sizes indicating the adults may still be breeding more.

I feel like I need to start a blog at this point, wish I had a bigger tank so I could keep them all but maybe my lfs down the street that specializes in Africans and saltwater would consider a dedicated cory tank if I kept the babies coming. Then again likely not as I'm sure they could just order them if someone wanted them.
