Spotted A Baby Panda During Water Change

This morning my plan was to remove the decorations and do a deep gravel vac of our 20 gallon high.

When I lifted the castle up something very tiny swam away.
I tracked it down and got a photo.

This is the first one I've found this year, and fourth one since last summer.
Hoping there are more hiding out among the swords. 20180520_105921.jpg

    Yes, Panda Cory.

    See the two bladder snails?
It's right under the smaller snail.
    Very tiny. 20180520_134914.jpg

    It’s towards the left.

The snail furthest left on the top of the gravel is left of the fry.

    Me too.

While I was changing the water it managed to avoid the zebra danios and amano shrimp that were roaming around, so it looks promising.

    A month later...

Spotted this little one amongst the Amazon swords after this morning's water change.

No idea if that's the same one I had spotted last month, or if there are more, but I was really happy to see that a panda cory fry had survived and is slowly growing. 20180617_095601.jpg

Another month and it's grown quite a bit and is now venturing out to the front of the tank and swimming with the others. 20180715_091753.jpg

Found two more young ones this evening

That makes 6 that have been born in this tank in the last 10 months.

Once they're fully grown, the tank will be overstocked.

You folks are probably tired of reading this, but...

Found another young panda cory plus at least two more fry this morning while vacuuming the tank.

Had to rescue two fry from the sink this morning, as they got picked up by the vacuum.

Having a few more cories won't overstock your tank.

Luckily most of the 11 cories are not full grown, but there are also 5 zebra danios, 4 harlequin rasboras, 3 amano shrimp, and 4 nerite snails in the tank (20 tall).

I'm running an HOB plus a double sponge filter in the tank, so it's covered well for biological filtration.

Lost one of the new cories in the last day or so
Guess it was zooming around and got wedged between the glass and a media bag with crushed coral that was hanging in the corner.
Bag has been removed and will be will use a small clay pot for the crushed coral instead.
