Spots On My Angel?

Book em Danio

I have a pair of black angels in my community tank. I have noticed that 1 of them has what looks like the ick. I know it isn't because it's been weeks now and it's the only fish with these spots. I say spots for lack of a better term. I shined a bright light on the angel and have noticed that the "spots" only show from certain angles? I'm thinking it's something to do with the fish's scales? Aside from the spots the fish acts completely normal. I have never seen this before. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

What else is in the tank? What size is it? Parameters? Temp?

That’s a bit on the low end for an Angelfish.... could it be some kind of stress?? And are you certain it’s not just marking coming on... sometimes as fish grow they can change the way they look... do you have a picture?

I think you hit the nail on the head. All of the "spots" seem to be gone. Probably from shedding scales.

Could you share a photo of the fish in question?

Tried to take a pic at the time with no luck. Now the Angel looks completely normal.

Glad they are gone... I’ve heard of others with angels that can change colors overnight and then appear back to “normal” after a day or a couple but no real certain answer as to what causes it... maybe some stress or lighting or small temp change... could be anything but usually it’s not much to worry about... happy he seems ok
