Hello again! Should I throw away my used sponge? Image1542508149.003543.jpg

Shouldn't have to. Just squeeze it out in your tank water and use it again. Good for years.

What did it come out of?

    Generally sponges are reusable.

    Great mechanical and bio filters.

It came out of my AquaClear filter, one of the inserts.

When u do a water change fill up a bucket with aquarium water and rinse your sponge. Throw out the water, fill the bucket up and rinse the sponge again. Keep repeating this cycle until the water you use for rinsing is clean.

What he said. Plus, if you have houseplants...use the dirty fish poopy rinse water to feed them! Mine have become positively lush since I started doing it. :)

You have an excellent filter. I have 4.

Is that from a goldfish tank?
