Ive been thinking about adding a sponge filter, but seen Gouramis don’t like a lot of noise. Was wondering if the bubbles would be to noisy? Mine loves eating the food off of the intake sponge. Any recommendations

A sponge filter will work and I don't think it would be too noisy.

Its only noisy when its all the way up, but i don't think it would bother a fish. But other then that yes your correct it should work fine.

If the filter ends up being too loud add an air stone to the end of the hose and place int inside the tube, makes it much less noisy and disturbs the water's surface less but still gets the job done.

I thought the sponge filter was going to be loud when I put it in to my QT tank...but surprisingly I didn't think it was that loud at all. I didn't hear much noise at all.
