Hi,

I'm looking at the different comparisons and trying to figure out which black sand is the absolute finest. Soft and fluffy are words that come to mind in lack of better descriptors. I have Tahitian moon sand and it's rougher than I am looking for. Would hate to have to buy a big bag to find out.

Feel free too share your pictures to, I love seeing everyone's tanks.

I bought Nat Geo black aquarium sand (before I found this forum and knew PFS or blasting sand would work) and it's super soft. My cories love it. It's more expensive though. Cost around $25 to fill my 55 gal.

I'll check it out, have you compared it to Tahitian moon sand?

I haven't. It's softer than the PFS I have in my 20 gal though.

There is an older post on here that compares the grain size, etc of wide variety of sands. I'll see if I can find it.

*edit* here you go

Mike the linked article was quite helpful for me and might make a good addition to the ultimate threads list.

TexasDomer Sounds good.

EricV Yeah, it's a sticky. I read it before I posted but I wasn't able to determine which would be closest to what I'm looking for.
