Can sound from a noisy pump, or leaving the aquarium light on too much stress a fish?

    Hello,

I've never had an issue with filters/pumps and fish stress. The fish just seem to adapt to the vibrations of the motors.

As for the lights, fish need day and night time and we should try and mimic natural lighting. Fish do need time to rest and or sleep. They need some down time so to speak.

Also too much lighting can lead to other issues such as Algae.

the vibrations might stress the fish but the noise shouldnt.

8-10 hours of light a day seems to be a general rule. And try to keep a regular schedule if you can...I haven't, and I am currently having algae issues.
