Illness & Symptoms
How long have you had this fish? 6-16-21
How long ago did you first notice these symptoms? been noticing flashing on and off but mark on face showed up after I got home from being gone 6-26 am to 6-27 pm
In a few words, can you explain the symptoms? I have noticed on and off flashing from my fish for at least a month or 2 no other symptoms, currently there appears to be a growth on male pearls face and white mark could be injury. It is acting perfectly normal and eating well.
Have you started any treatment for the illness? No treatment waiting for it to worsen or see change in behavior also see what I learn from post
Was your fish physically ill or injured upon purchase? no
How has its behavior and appearance changed, if at all? since purchase much braver and a bit territorial although I guess expected with this species.

Explain your emergency situation in detail. (Please give a clear explanation of what is going on, include details from the beginning of the illness leading up to now)

So long story leading up to this, I have had tank awhile now. I originally saw my female platies flash occasionally with no other symptoms except white spot. Made a post here was told to wait things seemed better white spot cleared up but occasional flashing remained. I pulled platies and treated with weeklong 3 med method found on aquarium coop and moved to 29 gallon. They seem good now but haven't been paying as much attention. During treatment saw harlequin rasbora had had clamped white fins pulled and treated with platys, then noticed other harlequin had same symptoms treated whole group. Just finished treatment, original harlequin died in treatment along with another but rest of group looks good and I plan to move to platy tank if looking ok.

I watched fish in other tank closely and did 50% water change when pulled rasboras along with another 30% when saw flashing. Things seemed better less flashing and no sick spots but today noticed issue with male pearl. I have attached photos. The pearls have flashed a bit as well. I have seen white marks on pearls that I think might be from fighting a bit. This is my first time with a more aggressive fish so still trying to figure out what is ok. The pearls get along ok but occasionally chase each other around the females chase a bit and the male pretty much only chases away from his side of tank . they are all chasing no one seems particularly singled out and none are hiding or looking sick or stressed. I have seen some white marks on fins and body but most heal and all look and act healthy. I attached pic of tank just wondering if this is caused from overly aggressive behavior. Before treating with meds want to figure out what is wrong and why fish might be flashing.

Also I have the 20 gallon med tank clearing out soon do I treat pearls pre-emptively or do I treat the main tank to figure out what is causing fish to flash. Really don't want to add meds to my main show tank unless absolutely necessary but the flashing is stressing me out I know they don't do that unless uncomfortable or sick. Some gills red but seems like fish are breathing fine. Really just want to figure out what is going on in tank to make fish uncomfortable and see if pearl has injury or sickness and if need to treat. Also any advice on aggression what to expect how much is normal.
