So mad!!

Went out for dinner this evening and the restaurant had a fish tank in their bar area, naturally I went straight over to look and get this...
The tank was maybe 29 gallon max, bare tank, no subatrate no plants, though it did have a heater and filter, stocked with
15-20 Neon tetras
3 red tailed shark
2 angels
5 guppies
AND 5 FANCY GOLDFISH!!!!

How the poor things are still alive is beyond me!! I immediately mentioned my concerns to the maitre d who just shrugged and said they are just there as they are interesting to customers, his words were "they are fish..we feed them and clean the water what more do they need" Needless to say we did not stay for dinner!! I dragged my poor other half out of there fuming!!

Sorry for ranting!! Needed to share with people that would understand my outrage!

 

Send them a letter too. Call them and state your concerns. Force them to do right be the animals.

Post reviews on review sites, talk to the owner, email them, ex. That's what I'd do, sorry to hear that, some people really don't care...

 

They don't have a tripadvisor page unfortunately :-( I did email the owner, I even offered to buy the tropical ones from him though it would involve me buying a new tank or two! I think I will call animal welfare in the morning too, though whether they will do anything I don't know! :-(

Social media might be a good way to go, but I'd wait and give them a chance first. It could hurt their business as well as give them business, any media is good media.

 

So true! Call the owner again and request he/she sell you the tropicals. And let them know you're deeply upset about the conditions and that you'll keep requesting they rehome the fish.
