Snow Days!!!!!

Hey everyone, I'm in maryland I will have to get some pictures, I am in the hardest hit area near PA, we have a total of 80 inches of snow. I am so amazed I feel like I am in alaska. This is crazy.

well I live in oklahoma and just to forewarn those of you north east of me, this storm is huge and has put down a ton of snow, I'm talking in a city that maybe sees 3'' a year, we have 8'' and its still coming down. most highways and businesses are shut down, with 2' to 8' snow drifts, commuting is impossible. there are many people who are not listening to the news and trying to travel and getting stuck, emergency services are shutting down because the side streets are so bad. just wanted to let everybody know the this storm is nothing to be unprepared for

I can't imagine how much you will get by the end of this storm hope you are safe throughout it.
your gonna get what I'm in now, this storm is one of the biggest ive ever seen, we actually have thunder snow, yup, I said thunder snow.

 

Here in CT, it's been snowing since about 4 a.m. It varies from a complete white out to barely there. The commute was good, because everyone was behaving properly. I'll be able to leave work whenever I feel I want to, so that's good. But tomorrow? If we do get all that ice and sleet? I'm not getting on the road. The office will have to live without me.

this is one of the rare weather occurances, ( I don't think occurances is a word), when this happens, the snow fall can be 2-3 inches an hour, I personally think we have got 6.5'' in 2 hours.

 

Wow that's a lot of snow! We have about 3" here, but everything is closed and there are warnings out this morning because the predicted high for today is -1!!!

 

woo -1, that's cold, there are highs here around 12f-15f, but the wind is about 30-40 mph, so wind chills are reaching -12f to -30f. thurday morning its supposed to be -2 here....

 

Ma and it is snowing crazy... Been out shoveling twice already... My wife is a teacher and they where left out at ten this morning and off for the day tomorrow...
seriously sick of the white stuff.

the bad part is, everbody north of me has about 10''-14'', were not to bad here, its bad for what were used to though.

I love snow also, ice is so dangerous, u can't drive, and the power will usually go out after about a 1/2'' of ice on the power lines

 

I'm in the Chicago area. They're forecasting 24" of snow in less than 24 hours beginning this afternoon. Every school is already shut down for tonight and tomorrow. And even some businesses.
The grocery stores have empty shelves. It's crazy!!

 

wish it would snow here! it's like 76 outside almost can't stand it.

I don't envy you guys. I lived on Long Island for 20 years and HATED
digging my car out to get to work. Then to come home and TRY and find a place to park!!! GEEZ!!!
I have a bro in Bayville and sis out in East Islip, I know they are gettin it this winter.

This storm is causing havoc all across the county. Sorry for those of you stuck at home, airports etc. I guess growing up near Cleveland we are used to this size snow storm. We have about 8" of snow on the ground now, they are expecting it to turn to an icy mix this evening and then back to snow tomorrow with another 6-8 more inches of snow. Luckily we have great snow removal systems in place...our roads are clear and driveable...even side streets.

yea, new York don't get lots of snow every year and lots of kids are always wanting more snow, now they hate it when it's actually here lol

Its been snowing since last night here, we have about a foot right now. All of the schools and stuff are closed.

You should have seen last year though, we had 3 feet of snow from Christmas until April and still had snow left at the end of May!

I used to live in santa fe, tesuque actually, we always got snow, so I'm kinda used to it, everyone else here has no idea what there doing when I comes to winter weather, there are about 100 cars stranded, the funny thing is a lot of them are toyota corollas, lol

 

We're getting hammered here too about 3 hours east of chicago. We still have to work tomorrow (I drive for Coca Cola), they are only running in town. The only way we get the day off is if they declare a level one emergency where only emergency vehicles are allowed on the road, otherwise we work. PepsI is already closed. :/

 

Pepetj, we're coming to visit! LOL. Nice shot. We are buried here in NH. Tomorrow's estimate is only 16". My husband got the day off so that's fun. Oh well, it is winter in New England!

Great! We never got our generator so I may have to stir tanks tomorrow if this storm hits hard.

 

I live in southeast Iowa and it looks like at least 15" now and still going. Its going to be a long night.

I live in Ohio and we got about 3 inches of ice last night. It was so horrible it shattered the window in my car. I got it covered just in time for the ice that came again. There is roughly 6 iches of solid ice covering everything. I live on a road that is not used very often and we have already heard quit a few cars struggling to make it down the road and its just your average flat city road. It's still raining/icing every where. I wish I had some ice skates I'm serious it's so bad I could go skating in my front yard that is normally full of grass. I HATE Ohio!!

Well spare a thought for Queenslanders. Just a couple of weeks after the major floods and we have a Category 5 Tropical Cyclone (Yasi) bearing down on the state, fully expected to be worse than Hurricane Katrina.

Snow storms have nothing on what is about to hit up north. Winds in excess of 320km/h (200mph)

Holy something just exploded out side. We were siting here watchin tv when we heard a loud boom and the windows lit up red. We don't know what is is that blew up but the fact that it's fiery blaze showed through our blinds is crazy. This ice is crazy.

 

It just blew up like 10 more times. It's a transformer and the fire department is on their way. It's crazy and epic all at the same time. I hope ours isn't next I don't have a generator for my tank.
