Sneaker male? Gender help!

  1. ashleyb Member Member

I bought two female koi swordtails a couple months ago. I know they can take some time to fully show their gender, however they both appeared very much female-esque.. Until a week ago. Pretty sure I got a sneaker male in the group lol. Can anyone tell by my poorly taken photos (they move so quick!!) if this looks like a developing sword, or if I'm losing my mind? I wanted all females because I didn't want to deal with breeding, but it looks like I may not have a choice.

    Yep, it's turning male.

Thought so, haha. Looks like I'll have to change his name! It really throws a wrench in my non-breeder tank but there's no way I'm rehoming him. Looks like they'll all be joining my 70 gallon if they get crazy, lol.

How long have you had that yellow green plant? I was told that was not an aquarium plant by someone else on here. I really like it and just wondering if it is actually working well under water ...

I've had it over a month.. And was sold to me by my LFS. Seems to be doing alright?
