I just set up my new 29 gallon tank and I found two snails in the tank I have no idea how they got their I have 3 peices of drift wood and a palm tree that was in my ten gallon tank that had some snails in it. I cleaned everything very good including the palm tree I put in my tank I washed it for like 10 min beiing sure their was no snails on the tree what do I do if I find more snails in the tank. it is still cycliing so I have no fish in it yet is there something I can put in tank to get rid of them incase their are more.

They're amazingly stubborn critters. Salt and copper liquids (like coppersafe) can do in snails but i'm not sure of their effect on your driftwood, if any.

My snails do not die if I put salt in their tank. The day after I put the salt in (and it was quite a lot of salt), I saw 2 eggsacs. Good luck getting rid of them, I think the coppersafe would be good.

By putting in the coppersafe is that going to hurt my tank since it is cycling?

How long has it been cycling. If not long simply take everything out and let it dry for a few days and then set it back up. If not try lettuce and cucumber at night, then take it out in the morning and snails should be on it.

I can not answer your questions sorry.

I think I will try that I have looked in my tank and have removed only two so far I have not seen any more. I have removed the two that I have found. So hopefully no more will be found.

cool, if they didn't get to lay any eggs, you may be fortunate and free of snails. we just got 6 plants at petsmart yesterday so we'll be keeping an eye on them for snails, but I feel safer with them than petco's plants. the plants tanks at this petsmart were very clean and well maintained with no signs of snails or eggs.

I went to lfs and got my plants for my 10 gallon tank and you had a snail issue. When I turn my light off in my ten gallon tank at night I wait for them to come out and I dip them out. Amazing how once you see one you see tons.

The plants we got look snail free, they've been thoroughly examined but we'll maintain a lookout for them just in case. I've heard that leaving a slice of veggie in a shallow dish out overnight in the tank will draw the snails to it.
