Snails food requirements?

So I understand that mystery snails benefit from fresh veggies, do they also need stuff like algae wafers? I'll also be adding cuttlebone in the filter. I'm thinking of adding one or two to my 10G betta tank!

I've tried feeding my mystery snails herbivore wafers and they won't go for them. I make them snail jello with crushed up dry food (both shrimp pellets and herbivore wafers) and veggies and they love it. They also love veggies by themselves.

Do you think they would do okay with the sinking pellets for my cories? I believe they're shrimp pellets. They are this brand and everything, my bottle looks a little different but I think they just changed the packaging so it should be exactly the same.

It's not a high quality food (first ingredient is a filler), but it should be fine.

Yeah I might upgrade to a higher quality when I run out of this I was just in a panic because I realized cories benefitted from sinking pellets so I grabbed anything within a good price range lol

I recently blanched a thin sliver of cucumber, my Lil snail gobbled up all the middle soft part. ZucchinI wasn't such a hit. I'll try it again though. Blanching also helps the veggies sink. Take out left overs after a few hours

And I can just stick them on a fork and leave it in for a while?

My mysteries go absolutely nuts over algae wafers. It always surprises me when I see others on the forum saying their snails pay no interest! They also DEVOUR green beans. They like broccolI too, but I tend to shy away from it because it makes a mess of the tank. Any type of squash usually does well too. I tried snail jello with them and they hardly paid attention to it, so maybe I just chose the wrong ingredients, not sure. I also dose liquid calcium for shell growth and their shells are stunning.

I have 9 mysteries with babies on the way!

I was thinking of buying babies from someone on here, I figure they'd be healthier than ones at the pet store etc. do they ship just like fish?

I bought mine from Ryan1824 and they're super healthy. They were packaged really well! They take a day or two to really start moving around the tank so give it time. Shipping is stressful on them. But my babies are great! Totally recommend him.

Okay cool I'll see if he has any! I'm getting plants in for my 10G today so hopefully I can plant them tomorrow and try to find some snails in the meantime!
