Snail Identification

I asked the fish store for mts. I got a couple netfulls of babies. This little guy was included. He And three singling appear to be rabbit snails. They "hop" am I correct in my identification. Or are they just weird mts.

A better look at their shells would help but they do indeed look a bit odd for the average mts.

I see that you are also from Houston. Did u get these from Fish Gallery? I asked for pest snails and I got those snails. I didn’t figure out what they were though.

Yes I went to the fish gallery. I wanted mts to churn the sub because I have very fine sand. Most of what I got was mts. They dig and climb all over the glass and all that good mts behavior. Then these three little guys act more like the gold rabbit snail that I also got from there. Hopping and never climbing anything. That's why I think they are rabbits. However they are so little I can't tell.

I’d say they’re Malaysian trumpet but do they have a elephant trunk on their faces? If so then they’re young rabbit snails. I’m no expert though.

They do appear to have an elephant trunk but they are so small it's hard to tell.

If they have an elephant trunk, definitely rabbit snail. Search it up, see if that’s what they really are. If they are rabbits, nice! My LFS charged 20$ each for them! I believe they can eat plants but I’ve never actually owned one.

It’s a black devil spike! Similar to rabbit snails. I’ve always wanted one! rabbit snails will not eat live plants. The devil spike will only eat very delicate plants if they’re really hungry. Since they’re an actually pet snail and not a pest snail they need to be fed at least every third day. They eat basically any kind of bottom feeder wafers. Algae wafers are a good supplement but should not be used all the time. I use HikarI bottom feeder wafers (orange bag). You can get them at petco or on amazon. Feed them 1/3 of that pellet every 2-3 days or smaller pieces if you want to feed every day and they will get their complete necessary nutrition! Ps my rabbits love to climb!
