Snail Eggs Everywhere. They keep breeding

lpparish

We have three tanks and have two snails in each tank. So far we managed to unknowingly put one male and one female in each tank. We now have 4 clutches of snail eggs. One hatched today and we have them in a fry tank inside the main tank. Two are in an incubator and one showed up today. If all of these survive or a good bit of them, what do we do with them? We can not keep all of these.

You can only separate the snails or just dispose of the clutches. If they hatch there can be 80+ baby snails per clutch.

What kind of snails are they?

If you don't have a fish that eats them, you'll have to dispose of them yourself.

Generally, their population will grow in proportion to the amount of available food. So if you are over feeding they will let you know.

I have clutches all the time. I slide them off the glass and put them directly into the freezer just to be humane because I don’t like to crush them. Others crash them or as suggested feed to fish.
