3 Pictures are attached. Two of the tetras have noticeable growths, but this one has the largest and most obvious growth on top of his nose. I have 6 Tetras in the 15 gallon, 5 are long fin black skirts and 1 is a yellow/colored glofish. I recently switched them out of another tank, so they have been in this new tank for 2 days. Here are current water parameters:

Edit: Better pictures posted in the replies below.

Ph: 6.8
Ammonia: .1
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 2-3 ppm
Temp: 73.5

Please let me know if the pictures and inadequate so I can try to take some better ones. Thank you for any suggestions!!!

Thanks for your reply. I attached a couple better pictures if that might help. Is there any good treatment for columnaris?

Dosent look like columnaris to me. I had something similar. I started do large water changes twice a week to help prevent it getting infected and it lived for quite awhile

In the pictures it looks like possibly a slime coat bubble. It appears to be located above the mouth, not in or on the mouth. If these observations are correct, I have had this happen when moving fish, or just from letting them get too scrappy with each other while the waters low during a wc. Sometimes they get spooked and run into stuff or jump into the lid etc. Especially while netting. This can cause a small scratch to irritate the slime coat and scab up just a little. The smaller the fish the worse it looks. Usually if this is the case it should clear up in a few days to a week, keep the water clean but don't spook them if you don't have to.

If it appears as a fuzz coming from in/on the mouth itself, or occasionally the eyes, then it may be time to look into columnaris or fungus. If it's as I think I see it it probably just happened when you moved tanks.

If the area continues to grow for more than a couple days it may be fungal. Document with photos as you have been and you should be able to compare it day to day. Good luck with your fish, the new tank looks pretty cool.

That sounds about right!! These little scabs appeared less than a day after moving all these tetras from a different tank. It was a bit of a chaotic move, as these little guys are quick and can be tough to catch. Thanks a lot for the answer!!

Glad you know what it is haha. I've never had to deal with columnaris (lucky me) so I don't know exactly how it looks like. Keep an eye on it. Could be some kind of fungus, but I doubt it.
