Small Pest Snails and Dwarf Chain Loach

HI everyone,

I have a problem with small pest ramshorn snails (a different species rhatn the fancier, larger kind). They only grow to be about 3 mm (less than a 1/4 inch) across.

Do you think the dwarf chain loach sould eat these little guys? I'm guessing because they're quite small themselves they might be more compatible with eating such a small snail species, but the one I just bought doesn't appear to have eaten of them yet.

I've also attached a picture of the snails, so you can have a better idea of what I'm talking about.

I believe the Dwarf Chain Loach is a Botia, and it should eat snails. You might try a YoYo loach if the Chain Loach doesn't work out.

Quick update: he's eating every small in sight, usually after lights-out.

Are you able to get him some friends? Dwarf chain loaches are extremely social.

I've got 10 of them and I used to have snails by the 100's. Not any more.

Squish one between your fingers and let it fall to the bottom so the loach can identify as food. Let nature take it from there.
