Small brown spots on white crayfish's pincers...any ideas?

I have had this guy for almost two years. He developed these brown spots on his pincers a few months after we got him. And they have never gone away. I have never bothered to look into it because he is a perfectly healthy crayfish and the spots aren't spreading or anything. So with that being said, he has had these spots for over a year. Is it just some discoloring? or is it something to be concerned about? He has fathered babies during that time, and he just really appears to be a very healthy crayfish....other than some unsightly brown spots.

here's a couple photos:

Have the spots persisted through molts?

I wish I could answer that, but I can't. He was already pretty big when we got him and so he only molted twice after we got him...and he hasn't molted since (because I believe he is full grown). And I honestly can't remember if he had the brown spots before either of those molts....it was a long long time ago.

I would guess that they might go away if he were to molt...but I think he is done molting....

A crayfish never completely stops molting, it just slows way down when they get really old.

Oh. Ok. Should I be concerned that it's been like a year

If the spots have been there that long and he hasn't had any issues, he should be fine. The spots look like the clots that can form when they receive an injury, so they should go away with another molt. Simon actually had a spot like that when he accidentally broke a tubercle off of his claw a few molts ago, and now there's no evidence of the spot.

Ok, thanks for the advice! I hope he is ok! Honestly I am planning to sell him because I am accumulating too many angelfish babies and need more tank space. I have a male and a female white crayfish...and they can't live together for obvious reasons. so...I really can't keep them both anymore :-( I need one of their tanks :-(

And I don't want to sell him to anyone if there is something wrong with him...you know? And if I do have a buyer that questions what the spots are, I want to be able to answer them!

If it were caused by an injury, I am very curious as to when, or how, that injury occurred. Oh well. He does seem just fine. So I am just going to consider it a cosmetic thing then. (a cosmetic thing that may have been caused by an injury) Unless anyone else has any different ideas.....

They sorta look like puncture wounds that could come from the claw tips of another crayfish
