Small Blue Jack Dempseys

    I was at my lfs yesterday, and I saw 4 blue dempseys that were about .5 inch long. The guy said that they only get to about 4 inches and are less agressive than the normal jack dempseys. Has any1 heard of these or no anything about them.

    From what I have read and heard people say about them, is that they may not be a true dempsey, but rather a cichlid hybrid. They are usually quite expensive, and very delicate. The mortality rate appears to be high, or they have very shortened life spans. They have been out for a couple years. Maybe the breeding line is stronger now. They are beautiful, but because of the reasons stated above, I have hesitated to purchase one.
