I think the girls may be a bit bloated from the freeze-dried bloodworms. So can anybody tell me the steps to making skinned peas?Like, do I need to cook them?

Use frozen peas, let one thaw out and remove the skin, cut it in tiny pieces and give each fish 1-2 pieces.

Next time you give freeze dried foods, soak it in garlic juice or tank water first. This will most likely prevent the bloating.

Good Luck

I'll try the garlic juice.I can't really soak in tank water or else the girls won't touch them.

I give my betta a thawed, de-skinned and ultra finely diced pea once per week (and skip the night feed to let the pea do it's job) and all my fish love it. Since doing this, I've never had any more constipation issues. I do freeze dried blood worms only once a week also as i've had bloat from them too, but my boy hates garlic unfortunately and doesn't do soggy food! I would also only do a single feed on the day you use the freeze dried blood worm so they have time to process it without other food gumming up the digestion.

Oh, and only let the piggy eat ~3 worms at a time . I find that also helps!

Good morning,

I would recommend frozen foods over freeze dried foods for you Betta.

Thanks I'd buy frozen if I could but they just don't sell them around here.
