skimmer help!

So I filled my 55 gallon hex with live rock and water today, and have been trying to get my skimmer going as well (brand new, figure I coukd get the "break in" started). Its a hob, eshopp psk 75h. I filled the body, plugged tge air line, and plugged it in. Its bubbling great, way too great! Its filling the cup (thankfully it has a drain at the top, which ive run back to the tank). I tried twisting the adjusted on tge outflow, but no change

Is this part of breaking?
Can I adjust it?

Do you see a way to adjust the flow rate or the height of the collection cup? I'm not familiar with that protein skimmer.

The collection cup has a 1/4-1/2" seal, and I have up as high as I can without leaks

The return outlet has a tube with a halfmoon cut to adjust the outflow, but ive had no luck getting any change

I just propped it above the tank by another inch, and its bubbling less into the cup (10-15 min fill now).

Is this "breaking in" ir do I need to adjust?

Can you post a pic of the filled collection cup to see how dirty the gunk it's collecting is? Usually the break in period means it doesn't produce enough during that time. Sounds like the flow is just a bit too much still.

I emptied the cup right before shot this, powered off the skimmer and turned it back on

I have the flow as unrestricted as possible (it flowed faster if I reduce the flow out). I also drained a few gallons out of the tank . Still crazy bubbles over into the cup

Good morning,

Please go to YouTube and change your setting for the video from Private to Public. I'm getting the response "This Video is Private".

Thanks!

Hi,
At a guess, I'd say too much air flow, and salinity may be a little high. I can't find a manual online, so not sure how to adjust it, but typically there will be valve/screw to adjust the air intake.

Too - I would be wary of running the overflow back into the tank, an old coke bottle makes a great overflow collector

As much as its over flowing now, back in that tank seems better.(bottle tge plan for actual skimmate) It looks like water, very little to no color

I think I fixed it! I noticed the bubbles dropped if I closed the airline. I added a bubbler valve to it, and dialed back the air flow until the bubbles were at the top of tge collection cup instead of over flowing
I'm getting wet, tea colored skI'm now, 1/3 of the cup over night
