Hi,

I have a common gold fish and a zebra danio, the danio likes the blood worms frozen, I feed the goldfish with ainI floating pellets ...

I hear this can lead to swim bladder disease as the fish gasp air as well, so should I turn to sinking pellets for gold fish, will it be good or floating is OK...

I just need to know as I want my fish to be healthy , on forum the opinion in divided so I am a bit confused ..

Kindly guide ...

Bobby

Well the only thing I can say is your zebra is going to eventually become food for your gold fish. Commons get very large and are usually kept in ponds.

Dave75g - yes I have been warned of this, its only 2 inch right now and not growing much , so I will wait and then transfer it or the danio in a separate tank ...

About the pellets what your opinion about which is better for gold fish, sinking or floating ..kindly suggest ...

Gold fish aren't picky eaters. I would feed him shrimp pellets and kelp wafers. Gold fish need there veggies too. I would give flakes for your zebra as they are primarily upper level feeders.

Yes, you want to be feeding your goldfish sinking pellets. I used to feed flakes to my goldfish, but due to gulping air at the surface ended up with swim bladder issues.

I always used floating pellets and flakes with my fancies and never had an issues in 5 years. I'll bet this forum is divided too.
Good luck
