Sinking pellets not sinking

I'm using NLS Small fish formula sinking pellets. But the pellets are floating on the surface. Eventually the pellets work around to the filter outlet and get pushed under. Is there any trick here or should I just continue as is? The black neon tetras and cherry barbs come up to the surface to take them, but the neon tetras stay mid water so seem to miss out.

I just throw them into tank a little harder when I want to get the neons. They sink fast enough when I do that

They're not supposed to sink immediately. Mine usually eat them all off the surface before they sink anyway. ;D

My NLS don't sink right away. You can push them under if you'd like. I prefer them not to instantly sink, gives everybody time to eat.

Hi, welcome to Fishlore

I'm with cichlidnut, you can hold them just under the surface, and they'll sink quick enough.

But letting them float at the surface for a while is not a problem either, they will eventually sink

I take a pinch about a inch below the surface and push them down, but I try to target feed a specific corner of the tank where all of my fish are used to being fed. I don't like it going all over the place.

Haha! You know, I'm having the complete opposite problem. I bought a NLS pellet that's supposed to float under the surface only they sink right away. I wonder if it's a water hardness issue? I really have to pick up a GH and KH kit and figure out what my hardness is.

Sounds good to me, I'll carry on as is. Maybe push a few under for the neons.
