Can I get away with setting up a Trigger tank (just 1 trigger) by using a HOB filter?

What size tank? Most triggers need pretty large aquariums.

A 90 gallon might be too small. Triggerfish are very active fish. What kind of trigger were you thinking of keeping?

I have read that the undulate triggerfish is pretty aggressive, so having it in it's own tank is good . You can keep it by itself in the 90 gallon.
