Silver Shark With A Red Side. Help ?!?!?!?!

Worried about my silver shark. My one is smaller and thinner than the past sharks I have had and it had red patches on its body that I have never had before on any of my fish. Also, it’s eyes have gone cloudy around the edges and they look blood shot and red. Anyone know what this could be or how to treat it ??? Sorry not amazing photos

 

That looks like Hemorrhagic Septicemia. At the stage your fish is currently in, I doubt that recovery in possible.

 

Agree that this looks pretty far gone, but if you want to give it a try I've found erythromycin to be effective with hemorrhagic septicemia.

 

Thank you for the advice. If this is the case do you happen to know if it will spread to the other fish in my tank. I have many different shouls of tetras, clown loaches, golden loach and gouramis. Are any of these likely to catch it as even though it will be sad to loose the shark I don’t want to lose any others as well. Thankyou

 

Septicemia can be caused by either bacteria or a virus. So the possibility of spreading is present, especially if the tank mates start nibbling on the infected fish. Probably best to remove the infected fish asap, make a 50% WC, then keep a close watch on the surviving tankmates. Be prepared to remove any other fish showing symptoms. Just keep the tank clean, and provide good nutrition, and things will likely get back to normal.
