Funny Silly Wal-mart

I went into Wal-mart today to do some shopping and stopped over by the fish. I could not believe how wrong the person they had working in the department was about everything. I was just looking at all the poor fish jammed into those tiny little tanks and could over hear him speaking to another customer about her fish. She said that she could not get her black finned shark to eat the flake food and without providing any other options just told her that maybe he didn't like the food and she should get another brand. She sighed and began to walk away, I followed. Taping her on the shoulder I explained the concept of the algae wafers and frozen blood worms she was very surprised that the associate was not aware of this... we talked a bit longer, she got the wafers and I told her about a LFS that was knowledgeable enough to provide at least basic information on the products they sell. :;bb

I bought a violet goby there, and they didn't tell me how to take care of it, and it died. I was asking the guy what I need and he seemed like he was just wanting us to leave him alone. I have a black fin shark and he loves the blood worms. they told me to feed him shrimp pellets, but he doesn't eat them and they make the water dirty. :;b

good job there, and I think people in walmart does have the knowleage of keeping fish, and they only care about the sale, so don't even bother with them.

or we can have some of our people here to work there we could do a much better job than them.

Trust me, a lot of Wal-Mart employees could care less what people buy. They get no benefit from you buying their fish. Since the dept is so tiny, you get random people stocking the shelves and taking care of the fish. All they care about is quitting time.

I don't want to make it seem that they don't care, it's just they don't have any training and no value is placed on having fish experience.

Oh walmart. I suppose we shouldn't expect much from them, seeing as they're definitely not about fish to begin with. Truthfully I've seen better fish care at a meijer's.

LOL That's great! I admire you for even going to the fish section to begin with. I know how horrible the situation is at our location too.
