Silly Betta And Other Fish

Anyone else's betta or other fish act like other fish or horse food they don't eat? Lol my crazy guy tries so hard to fit in (he really is doing great in this community) when I feed algae wafers, I say again ALGAE WAFERS this guy feels left out so what does he do acts like a bull in a China shop barges in snaps at it a few times looks at me like I lost my mind but yet continues to guard it like his life depends on it. He'll go up to get some air swim down as fast has his little dumbo fins will flap to go back to his guarding position meanwhile my omnivore's try their hardest to devour the water as much as possible before he comes back. Crazy guy! Dont feel too bad he's been hunting down and eating babies all day, I was able to get 5 out but there's a few more I haven't gotten out yet, if they are still there in a few days I will try again.

I agree, algae wafers is like ringing the dinner bell. I put them in my tank for cories 30 minutes (give or take) dusk when my tetras are starting to doze.

What a strange, and lovely catfish you've acquired!

Seriously though, gorgeous betta. They often have fun personalities and quirks. I doubt that I'll ever be without at least one. You found a special little guy.

Thank you! I fell in love with the dumbo ear/elephant ear breed when I first saw them. I never saw one before until I went to aquarium coop (my lfs). Then about a month ago I went to get a couple nerites and fell in love with this guy, he flared at me but not terribly just like a little playfully and thought oooo he just may work with my mollys and juliis, low and behold with some breathe holding he is doing great and living life, I hope he will tolerate my juveniles when they are big enough to go back into the main tank.

Who can blame you? Passing up such a beauty would be a crime against.. um, fish!

Nice that you live so close to Murphy. I might fight the horrible traffic and go there for plants, but it's going to be cheaper to have the fish shipped than the round trip for gas, or round trip ferry ride. Or the wasted trip, to find out they don't have what I came for.

Now.... How many more bettas will you bring home in the next 3 months??? You can never have just one.
